Overview

Scope of Responsibilities: Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department. Assists in the training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. Relies on experience and professional judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

 

Job Summary: Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the ProAct Pharmacy Services Standard of Practice as it relates to the provision of the highest quality health care service for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Follows the ProAct Pharmacy Services Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and counsel patients.
  • Obtain and maintain licensure in other states as required.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients as part of ProAct Pharmacy Services Clinical Management Programs
  • Always ensure compliance with all ProAct Pharmacy Services policies and procedures
  • Participate in after-hours/on-call rotation as required.
  • Performs all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed. Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Follows all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Monitors all claims for proper reimbursement and collection of funds due.
  • Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to ensure maximum turns while remaining in stock for customer needs. Oversee the transmitting, processing, and receiving of orders to and from the ProAct Pharmacy Services Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed.
  • Oversee the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of all returns.
  • Ensure prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to New York State, and all other states that prescriptions are dispensed and delivered to
  • Ensures in-pharmacy technology is being used to its fullest potential to ensure a maximum return on investment in the technology and life span.
  • Ensure all employees always exhibit outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure all loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations from said policies to Loss Prevention
  • Oversee the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions.
  • Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information.
  • Facilitate communication between professional staff and ProAct Pharmacy Services personnel.
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines.
  • Assist in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel.
  • Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed.
  • Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Skills Required:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic keyboarding skills

 

Job Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
  • Ability to stand/walk throughout majority of shifts.
  • Limited lifting up to 30lbs

 

Education:

  • Minimum: BS degree in Pharmacy
  • Preferred: PharmD degree in Pharmacy
