Appointed by KPH to administer, direct and coordinate all the activities of the Home Health Agency
Responsibilities
Plans overall development and administration for the Agency as set forth in the Conditions of Participation and/or IL state regulations under the direction of the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board
Develops administrative policies and procedures relating to the Home Health Agency
Reviews and evaluates existing policies and procedures by means of periodic studies
Coordinates and integrates the total Agency Activities through regular conferences with department supervisors
Interprets and transmits policy to the Board of Directors, Advisory Committee and supervisory staff to ensure compliance with policies
Develops standards and methods of measurement of Agency activity and coordinates the annual program evaluation
Prepares a yearly budget in cooperation with the Budget Committee and Board of Directors
Approves monthly expenditures, cosigns checks as needed and monitors the financial positions of the Agency
Acts as Chairperson for the Advisory Committee or appoints same
Prepares reports on Agency activity for the Board of Directors and Advisory Committee
Determines organizational lines of authority and fixes areas of responsibility
Approves hiring and termination of employees in senior and/or mid-level positions
Approves all salary increases and staff promotions in cooperation with division directors
Authorizes purchases of supplies and equipment
Ensures continuous compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and Agency policy
Handles client complaints not resolved according to procedure and/or works with the Board to resolve the same
Handles unresolved problems between staff and supervisors
In cooperation with the Board of Directions, appoints the Director of Nursing to act in the administrator’s absence
Maintains high visibility and availability while in the office via telephone to physicians, referral sources, community resources, clients and staff
Actively pursues new and innovative marketing opportunities
Serves as Process Owner as assigned.
Serves as compliance officer.
Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Four-year college degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred
Two years of home care or nursing in a leadership position preferred
Professional registered nurse, licensed physician, or experienced health care administrator
Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel and deal tactfully with the community
Minimum of one year supervisory or administrative experience in the field of public health hospital administration or health-related facility
